Accessibility

What we do to keep this site usable for everyone, what still needs work, and how to reach a person if something gets in your way.

Our commitment

PHYX Device Repair & Sales wants every customer to be able to look up a repair, price a device, and reach us — whatever they use to browse. We build and test this site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the standard most widely used to judge whether a website is usable by people with disabilities. We treat that as the target we hold ourselves to, and we are not claiming the site meets it perfectly everywhere.

What we've built in

  • A “Skip to content” link so keyboard users can jump past the header on every page.
  • Full keyboard operation — menus, the cart, photo galleries, and forms all work without a mouse, and the focused element is always visible.
  • Text and interface colors chosen against measured contrast ratios rather than by eye, so copy stays legible on our dark background.
  • Tap targets sized to at least 44×44 pixels for easier use on a phone.
  • Respect for your device's “reduce motion” setting — animations stop when you ask your system to stop them.
  • Real text and headings rather than pictures of text, so screen readers can read it.

Where we know we fall short

We would rather name these than let you find them. As of our most recent internal review:

  • The Instagram feed on our home page and the Google map on our Location page are supplied by those companies. We don't control their accessibility, and the same information — our address, hours, and phone number — is always available as plain text nearby.
  • Some photo areas advance on their own. We're adding controls to pause them, and they already stop for visitors whose device asks for reduced motion.
  • Parts of our staff-only admin area have not been brought fully to the same standard as the public site. It is not customer-facing, and it is on our list.
  • Some smaller print sits below our own comfortable-reading target. Every page supports browser zoom and text resizing without breaking.

Run into a problem? Tell us

If anything on this site blocks you — a page you can't read, a control you can't reach, a form you can't finish — contact us and we'll help you directly and fix the underlying problem. Tell us the page and what happened, and we'll take it from there.

Email repairs@phyx.me or call 413-234-4313. You can also walk in — 95 Mill Street, Suite B1, Springfield, MA 01108 — and a person will help you in the shop.

Anything you can do on this website you can also do by phone or in person, including pricing a repair, checking whether we have a device in stock, and placing an order.
